Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, an autonomous institute under Ministry of AYUSH (Govt. of India) hosted a daylong event on healing and holistic development, in association with Strategic Bond Management Consultants LLP, a Delhi based management firm specialized in events related to health, wellness and public welfare. Titled as Wellness Chopaal, this event offered a unique mix of presentations and discussions on topics ranging from Yoga, Diet & Nutrition, Ayurveda, Mind Training, Organic food, physical education, Yoga for special kids and role of senior citizens in social development. Event was held at MDNIY Campus, 68, Ashok road, New Delhi – 110001 on April 7, 2018 to commemorate World Health Day and contribute towards preparation of International Yoga Day 2018. People from various fields of work and age participated and admired this event as a great initiative to connect more people towards ancient Yogic wisdom and wellness practices in form of Yoga, Ayurveda and other related streams under principle of AYUSH for healthy living and holistic development.
In the inaugural address, Dr. Ishwar Basavaraddi, the director of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, praised this public-private initiative and advised professionals, students, and other people to join such interactive platforms to hone their practical knowledge and presentation skills. Doctors, healers, educators, yoga practitioners and other people connected to these professions are doing a noble job in creating a healthy world for all, he mentioned.
Mr. Sanjeev Bhakhri, the co-host and anchor of the event shared his gratitude to Dr. Ishwar Basavaradi and management team/workers at Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga for their support to conduct this event at MDNIY Campus. He shared the meaning and the importance behind such wellness events for the audience. In the popular perception a Chopaal is any place where people “sit and discuss their social issues, celebrate their pleasures, share the concerns of an individual, family or a particular group, sort out their problems.” It is “a sacred place of secular nature” that “guarantees freedom of speech and expression to everybody.” We are using this term ‘Chopaal’ in our event title to mirror that atmosphere of free conversation and social engagement through this initiative. Wellness Chopaal is a place to seek, learn and share wellness for all, he quoted.
The daylong event engaged people with impressive presentations and soulful discussions on Yoga by Dr. Guru Deo (Asst. Professor, MDNIY), Ayurveda by Dr. A.K. Mishra (Consultant MDNIY), Diet & Nutrition by Dr. Manjot Kaur (Diet expert, MDNIY), Mind training by Mr. Anil Bhatnagar (Thrive), and other such topics along with display of product range from Organic Wellness. People also availed FREE Clinic services during the breaks in first half of the day and a refreshing health drink treat was available for all by Wild Vitamin Water (Beltek Canadian Beverages Pvt. Ltd.)
